Transport Modelling was founded in 1990 by Paul Van den Bos and his wife, Narelle. Paul and Nix have known each other for more than a decade, and they share many professional and personal beliefs and values. They have been working together on many modelling projects over the last five years.
Recently, Nix has become a successor of Transport Modelling and will continue to uphold its values, legacy, and a very high standard of modelling.
We are specialists in human activities, land use and transport interaction. We are passionate about applied mathematical, empirical modelling to simulate a representation of a complex interaction between choices, decision making, land use and transport infrastructure.
We are a group of transport modellers who firmly believe in an evidence-based decision-making approach to assist our clients in achieving their goals in planning and delivering sustainable modes of transport and infrastructure for their communities.
Our core values, integrity, trust, and agility are shining through all successful projects over the years.
Integrity is our key value as it defines who we are. We assist many clients to navigate through modelling myths and mesh to unravel hidden information and to reveal the truth.
Trust is our most valued commodity we gained over the years from many clients both private and public sectors. It is our goal to gain long term relationship and to build trust based partnership.
Agility is our key strength of our approach and methodology when handling transport modelling projects. Model behaviour is sometime unpredictable hence it is useful to focus on the outcomes while have something up in your sleeve.
Transport Modelling aspires to uphold the utmost professional standard and appreciate its responsibility to the communities it serve.
We aim to achieve this goal by adheres to our honest comments, advice and recommendations to our clients. In addition, we continuously improve our staff knowledge and understanding by searching for a way to improve the model and reviewing international modelling approaches applicable and can be implemented in the local context.
Our staff are very experienced as they have a complete understanding of the connection between the real world and the transport models represented in a mathematical formula. They are specialists in using existing, enhancing and developing models for interpreting and reporting on the land use/transport interaction. Our team is highly skilled associates from various interacting fields, including environmental, economic, engineering, social and heritage.
